FLUENT for CATIA V5 One Minute Walk-Through
FLUENT for CATIA V5 is fully embedded into the CATIA V5 analysis infrastructure. The entire simulation process of FLUENT for CATIA V5 resides inside the CATIA V5 interface. The FLUENT for CATIA V5 interface and workflow have been made as similar as possible to the Generative Part Structural (GPS) analysis workbench for quick learning, ease of use and high productivity.

In a few clicks, you will define your simulation:
-
Geometry of interest: FLUENT for CATIA V5 will automatically extract the flow volume for you if you are reading a solid part or assembly
-
Simulation goal: Do you need a fast result that only shows a general trend? Or do you have a bit more time and the need to get a more refined result for an optimization task? Achieving the right balance is easy with FLUENT for CATIA V5. Mesh and solution parameters will be automatically set for you to align with your simulation goal.
-
Physics associated to your case
- Material assignment to your model: drag and drop fluid and solid materials from the database windows as usual into CATIA V5
- Boundary conditions: A graphical representation of the boundary condition set-up is provided on the geometry at inlets and outlets to ease the process

Click on the compute icon and FLUENT for CATIA V5 will automatically drive the solution process for you up to the point you can analyze your results into useful reports and visualizations. Visualizations are performed with the standard CATIA V5 post-treatment tools, which are enhanced for CFD, and reports are generated automatically per your request.
You can now decide to optimize your design based on the analysis results you have just obtained. You can either manually change the design and automatically update the results, or you can use an optimization tool such as PEO, combined with knowledge rules, to automatically find the optimal design that will best suit your needs.
